Meet the Brewers

Jeremy Marshall

Head Brewmonster, Petaluma

Please list your name, position, month/year you started at Lagunitas & how you ended up here! Jeremy Marshall; Brewmaster; 18 years; I wrote Tony a letter probably during the last days of him reading his mail.

What are a few words you live (or brew) by? Crap in = crap out IPA’s greatest tragedy is that it was once fresh.

If you could make an animal out of 3 animals, which would you use and what would it be called? Maybe an English Bulldog crossed with friendly pig (must have pig tail) crossed with duckbill platypus (must have webbed feet and be able to swim).

If you were in the Beer Circus, what would your sideshow talent be? Definitely not belly dancing; maybe face-painting or tuques-tuques (the Mexican shock game).

Erron Dykins

Brewing Manager, Petaluma

Please list your name, position, month/year you started at Lagunitas & how you ended up here! Erron Dykins, Brewing Manager, 14 years with Lagunitas, I was hitchhiking in Tijuana and this is where I was dropped off.

What are a few words you live (or brew) by? Own Your Shift.

If you could make an animal out of 3 animals, which would you use and what would it be called? Elephant, whale, eagle. Name: Chuck.

If you were in the Beer Circus, what would your sideshow talent be? Burrito Juggler

Dan Schmelzer

Head Brewer, Seattle

Please list your name, position, month/year you started at Lagunitas & how you ended up here! Dan Schmelzer, Head (and only!) Brewer – Seattle 3.25 years I got tipped off about the Seattle taproom opening by my ol’ pal Chef Bob who opened the Chicago taproom, I applied to the initial open interview call and as we weren’t ready to hire a brewer at the time I was the original sound engineer for the bands playing the taproom. Once ready to hire a brewer I was first on the list, and began brewing here after a phone interview with Jeremy. (Fun fact: Chef Bob used to be Tony Magee’s pot hookup when he flew into Chicago, and I was Chef Bob’s source!).

What are a few words you live (or brew) by? I live by the golden ale rule – drink others and you would like to be drank.

If you could make an animal out of 3 animals, which would you use and what would it be called? 1 part Scooby Doo, 1 part Roger Rabbit, and 1 part Albatross. I’d be a seafaring cartoon sailboat captain named “Skipper Doo”.

If you were in the Beer Circus, what would your sideshow talent be? The guy who can drink himself out of the dunk tank.

Lagunitas Brewing Company all the mouthfeels. And a few more. You didn't even know existed.
